Should Students Get the REDMAGIC 11S Pro or Astra 2?
When it comes to choosing between a gaming phone and a gaming tablet, it’s important to focus on what you need from the device. u/FutureCSpro posed the question about which device to get, noting that they’re a student and really into gaming. Now, both devices are designed for intensive gameplay and focus on unique strengths.
The 11S Pro is more versatile as a dedicated smartphone, which would be easier as an all-in-one device, especially for a student who would be gaming on the go. Both devices enjoy world-class chipset performance, pioneering liquid cooling, and enhanced displays.
OP also noted that the high FPS on the Astra 2 and the larger screen were a big selling point. It should also be noted that the FPS depends on the game you play as well and its compatibility. The Astra 2’s larger screen space and battery make it a much more commendable option for longer gaming sessions as well. Ultimately, the choice is yours and depends on your unique preferences and circumstances. Either option would be the right one in our eyes.
Is Wireless Reverse Charging Compatible with All Devices?
The REDMAGIC 11 Pro and 11S Pro both boast our first entries into the wireless charging market. Both models feature 80W wired and wireless fast charging capabilities, alongside our new reverse charging support that allows you to use your phone as a power bank for accessories like earbuds, smartwatches, or other phones. However, this feature might not work with certain brands that have stricter charging protocols.
For u/RubbishRNG, their Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 wouldn’t charge on the back of their 11 Pro, yet their Galaxy Buds2 Pro earbuds would. While we try to offer compatible charging for all accessories, the individual requirements for other brands do not always align.
If you’re struggling with reverse charging accessories and devices with your 11 Pro or 11S Pro, first ensure that the feature is properly enabled in your battery settings, remove any thick cases or covers from both devices, and ensure accurate alignment against the center of the back of your REDMAGIC phone. If the problem persists, please check the charging requirements and compatibility of your accessory beforehand or contact our support team to ensure your phone is working correctly.
Does the Astra 2 Need An External Cooler?
This largely depends on what you’ll be using the tablet for. u/ucoa noted that they’d be using their Astra 2 for Fortnite and PC emulation. Now, the Astra 2 comes fitted with our advanced 12-layered AquaCore Cooling System 2.0, featuring visible flowing liquid cooling, liquid metal 3.0, a large vapor chamber, multi-dimensional heat spreading, and patented cooling technology. This ensures sustained performance for most games and emulation.
Now, if you’re going to be running PC emulation for longer periods of time on high performance modes, you might need to look into your cooler options. We would recommend the REDMAGIC Cryo Cooler 8 Pro for up to 80°C temperature reductions and 36W cooling power.
Where Is Mora?
The REDMAGIC Mora AI assistant has been a large part of all our devices for many years now. Mora would seamlessly integrate into daily activities, adding a touch of personal interaction and entertainment to your daily tasks. Typically, Mora will appear as a tiny icon in the corner of the screen when you open your Game Space. You need to simply tap the icon to activate and interact with her.
Recently, u/MrDoomDuck was concerned about Mora disappearing as an app on their phone. However, you can still see Mora on your pull-down notification panel and in your Game Space to activate her. You can also still go into the Mora settings inside Game Space and select the option to add the interactive model or shortcut back to your home screen.
Will the Astra 1 Screen Protector Work on the Astra 2?
u/Low-Inevitable-6249 was concerned about whether the screen protectors could be applied universally for both Astra tablets. While both tablets come fitted with a 9.06-inch OLED screen, they do differ slightly in size still. This is why we recommend only using the compatible REDMAGIC Astra 2 Screen Protector for the Astra 2.
Faulty Internet Connectivity
Staying connected at all times is essential whether you’re gaming or simply using the internet. u/Pepe_Jonez voiced some concerns about their device connecting to the Wi-Fi but not the internet, and also not being able to reach 5G and being forced to use 4G.
Now, the first step would always be to simply restart your device and see if the issue persists. If the problem continues, follow these steps:

Try turning on the Wi-Fi and seeing if the connection is faulty in any way.

Try to connect another device to the same Wi-Fi network. If the other devices also can’t connect to the network, then the issue is most likely on the router side.

Check whether or not your device can connect to another Wi-Fi network. If your device connects to the network but doesn’t have internet access then the problem is most likely specific to internet connection.

Delete and re-add the Wi-Fi network from settings to see if that helps.
For network issues, most signal errors have something to do with your SIM card or network coverage.

Ensure that the SIM Card is inserted correctly.

If you're connected, while 2G and 3G networks are usually available, LTE connectivity can often be weaker depending on your area.

Confirm APN settings with your network provider to avoid any network issues.
