Honkai: Star Rail’s Latest Update on the REDMAGIC 8S Pro

Honkai: Star Rail’s Latest Update on the REDMAGIC 8S Pro

REDMAGIC 8S Pro x Honkai: Star Rail

Honkai: Star Rail has grown in popularity since its release earlier this year, with more than 10 million downloads on the Google Play Store alone. The game’s 1.2 update sees the introduction of a few new characters including the long-awaited Kafka, plus additional relics and content to farm out. According to a review posted in May by Jess Reyes on IGN, Honkai: Star Ral is the best free-to-play game of the year, and since the initial game performed beautifully when we tried it on the REDMAGIC 8 Pro, we went ahead and tried out the updated version on the improved REDMAGIC 8S Pro

The Advantages of Playing on the REDMAGIC 8S Pro

It’s no secret that Honkai: Star Rail is one of the most graphically demanding games available on Android devices, with the developers recommending that it be played on a device with a Snapdragon 835 chipset at the very least. While the settings can be adjusted to suit your preferences, it’s a game best enjoyed with the graphics set to max. The REDMAGIC 8S Pro is built to meet these very demands to give you the best possible experience of this game.

Stability Guaranteed

According to an article on Sportskeeda, the best experience on Honkai is achieved by setting the Graphics, Shadow, Reflection, Character, and Light Qualities to High. On any other device, these settings have the potential to slow down the FPS speed and negatively impact your experience after a few hours of gaming. Tests conducted at the REDMAGIC Lab confirm that the REDMAGIC 8S Pro maintains a stable frame rate of 60 FPS throughout the game, even after playing for two hours or more.

A Beauty to Behold

With the graphics maxed out, you’ll see all the fine details the developers took time to create, including some of the intricate designs on Kafka’s outfit. The 6.8-inch notch-less AMOLED display is the ultimate companion for this beautiful game, delivering an outstanding 1300 nits of brightness, and boasting one of the fastest touch sampling rates in the industry at 960 Hz. The REDMAGIC 8S Pro’s combination of beauty and function makes this screen almost as fantastic as gaming on the PC.

Immersive Dialogue

The developers certainly put some effort into the writing of the script and ensured that the voice acting in the game is on point. The dialogue is filled with humor and relatable content that gives the characters life. This is an element that can be fully appreciated on the DTS:X certified dual-linear speakers of the REDMAGIC 8S Pro. The game’s acoustics are delivered with a surround sound effect and a rich bass that extends the sense of realism as you play.

A Cooler Experience

The game runs well on Android with no major performance issues, however, it’s reported that some devices may encounter overheating after extended gaming sessions. The Panther Tech has even suggested a few ways players can go about bringing the device’s temperature down when playing Honkai: Star Rail. This is an issue that we encountered in our first review of Honkai: Star Rail, played on the REDMAGIC 8 Pro, but it wasn’t enough to deter us from the mission. The improved thermal control system in the REDMAGIC 8S Pro delivers just the right amount of cooling action to tackle a prevalent problem for HoYoverse fans everywhere, giving you more play time to edge ahead and make more pulls.

Is This the Coolest Game of the Year?

REDMAGIC 8S Pro x Honkai: Star Rail

Whether Honkai: Star Rail is a better game than Genshin Impact or any other game is debatable. However, the fact that the latest HoYoverse game sports a bunch of the optimizations that are lacking in Genshin Impact could mean it’s well on its way to the top spot. An extensive comparison of the two games reveals that Genshin Impact scores a point for combat mechanics, exploration, and lore expansion, while Honkai: Star Rail is better than the former at farming mechanics, game dialogue, storytelling, character design, and animation. It may be too early for Honkai: Star Rail to take the title, but the latest update has the potential to make players spend more time on it than before, even more than Genshin.
