How REDMAGIC’s Shoulder Triggers Can Take You To Pro
New to mobile gaming and just can't get a feel for the controls? Having to contort our hands into weird claw shapes just doesn't feel right. So we started putting REDMAGIC shoulder triggers into our phones and we’ve never looked back. It’s such an improvement in the gaming experience that we can’t think of playing on a phone without them.
What Can You Do With Shoulder Triggers
To give players more control over their games the REDMAGIC 7 Series’ shoulder triggers are capable of performing multiple actions instead of just one and they can do it in a couple of ways. To make multi-tasking options easier, we can use the dual operation which allows you to press two different locations on the screen at the same time with one shoulder trigger. You can even do this with both triggers at once for a total of 6 actions all happening at once simultaneously when you add in your two thumbs. The second is what we call Press and Lift. you can map one action for when you press the shoulder trigger and a second action for when you let go. You can also set both triggers up for this as well.
To make it even better and more customizable, you can set the shoulder triggers up independently of each other. Meaning you can have one for two actions with one press and the other with the other doing two different actions with the press and lift feature.
So how do we use these features in our games? I bet you are already thinking up some ideas of your own. If not, no worries, we’ll share with you our favorite setups.
How We Play Apex Legends: Mobile With Triggers
We liked using a mix of both of these new settings. For the right trigger, we liked having it do both aim down sights and shoot at the same time with the dual operation setting. On the left trigger, we upped our mobility skills by using the press and lift feature. We set crouch for when we press the trigger and then set jump for when we lift off the shoulder trigger. The slide mechanic in Apex Legends: Mobile when you crouch while running and linking it up with jumping when we let go of the shoulder trigger made our movements very erratic and hard to predict. So, just like that, with these new shoulder trigger features it is easier to move and dodge while at the same time aim and shoot with ease.
Sure, these feats can be done on other phones but you have to hold it in a strange and complicated position. But that tires out your hands quickly and isn’t nearly as comfortable as using real shoulder triggers. We hope you enjoyed this little example, and maybe even learned something new that you can try with your REDMAGIC phone. If you don’t have a REDMAGIC 7 Series smartphone, then just pop on over to our store page and pick one out today.
What About Other Games?
There are more than just first-person shooters after all, so what other games are we using triggers on? Well, there is only one limitation for the shoulder triggers, the application has to be open in landscape mode. So if it runs in landscape mode, we’re using the triggers!
How do we play Genshin? With one trigger on the dash button and another on the second person in our part for quick swapping between our two favorite characters.
In Real Racing Three we have triggers set up for acceleration and for breaking. That way you can smash the e-brake while taking a sharp turn and not look like a crazy person tilting your phone quickly all over the place.
To keep up with the fast-paced games of League of Legends: Wild Rift, we like to bind the shoulder triggers to the summoner spells. Since those spells are a little small and a little far to press, it really makes playing the game a lot easier and more enjoyable to use the shoulder triggers for them. It’s also to get those combos off like going all-in by flashing in and instantly igniting and then locking down your opponent so your teammate can finish them off!
