Best of the best no contest

Literally like the title says Best of the Best no contest.
Epic monitor very very bright Mini LED in HDR Mode 1001 Nits is unreal. I mean you would literally have to see it in front of you to witness it's vibrant picture quality wow ! Worth every penny and then some.
The OSD Menu is super easy to use and I love the easy plane switching between different resolutions. 2.1 HDMI will give you MAX refresh rate of 144htz full Native 4K. Using a DP will give you 160 htz in full 4K if you have the powerhouse to back it up that is.
I highly recommend this monitor for all your gaming and video/photo editing needs.

Thanks RedMagic

Great monitor with a few issues

Received mine a week ago and so far I am impressed with the HDR and Local Dimming features of this monitor. There seem to be a handful of bugs that can hopefully be fixed via software updates.

Pros:
4k at 27" makes everything (text especially) look extremely crisp.
Easy to set up. Stand it came with seems sturdy enough.
HDR is incredibly bright. This is my first HDR monitor so I didn't know what to expect, but I don't think I'll ever be able to go back to using SDR in games again.
The monitor came factory calibrated and colors look fantastic.
Local dimming feature is very cool and it's something I have decided to keep on at all times. It's nowhere near as good as an OLED, but it's a good middle ground in my opinion. There is some blooming but it's not that bad when viewed head on.

Cons:
This one is big for me. The matte coating on this screen is way too strong. It's really hard to read text on white backgrounds because of the very aggressive grainy RGB effect.
There's coil whine coming from the top of the display. Seems to get worse when brightness is increased. I can only hear it if I stand above the monitor and listen for it though. If I'm sitting at my desk I can not hear it.
The bloom is pretty bad when viewed at an angle.

There are a lot of quirks that I'm hoping can be fixed via a software update.

1. When G-SYNC is enabled, the screen will go black in menus or when using another monitor if you have multiple high refresh rate monitors connected to your video card.
2. The PBP section in the OSD doesn't work at all. It's greyed out and can't be used.
3. The Auto option for Input Signal is very slow and causes my system to pick the wrong main monitor during a cold boot.
4. I'm hoping Halo Control can be updated to work better. Right now it seems like the only good settings are 100 or 0. No inbetween.
5. 160 Hz can't be enabled when using HDMI 2.1 even though it should have more bandwidth than DP 1.4.
6. Please add an option to change DP version so we can indirectly disable nvidia's DSC.
7. This monitor wakes up very slowly and reorients all of my displays even in windows 11.
9. The "Normal" and "Expert" settings for dynamic brightness don't seem to function properly. They make the contrast worse than "Off" and "Elaboration".
10. The Ultra Fast response time setting causes the monitor to overshoot pretty badly making it unusable.

Overall, I am satisfied with this monitor, but I hope the issues I mentioned above can be fixed.

Red Magic Does it again

A welcomed addition and much needed upgrade.

Only recommendation would be to have this monitor in a curved variant.

Great picture, some limitations

I've had mine for about a week now, here are my thoughts:

Pros:

* The image is bright and sharp and colorful.
*HDR mode is stunning. I tested the FFXIV Endwalker benchmark with Windows 11 Auto HDR, and wow, the moon and the spells are bright! I also tried Assassin's Creed Discovery Tour, but it didn't seem to do much with the HDR.
* No fan noise, unlike my old LG; that was my primary reason for replacing it!
* Built-in KVM switch, so I can have my work machine powered by USB-C and my desktop on DisplayPort.
* Dark-grey / gun-metal colored bezel is a nice color.
* The stock stand works well enough once you make sure to push the latch lever down. Just the springiness alone will leave the monitor likely to fall off, especially if the LED ring is loose like mine initially was.

Biggest Con: It's very unreliable about waking computers.

* If the monitor goes to sleep, so does the USB, so I can't use it to wake up the computer. My USB hub with per-port link LEDs shows that all the USB links go down.
* If I switch inputs to a different sleeping PC, the USB stays off, so I can't wake that computer either.
* Changing the ambiguously named "USB Power(Sleep)" setting doesn't help. (Does it turn on USB Sleep, or does it turn on USB Power during Monitor Sleep?)
* Sometimes I even have to actually unplug and replug the USB-C to my work Mac to get it to link up.

Other Cons:

* Coil whine, with pitch changing depending on backlight brightness. Some brightness levels are more annoying than others.
* It doesn't get along with my DisplayPort 1.4 KVM switch that worked with my LG monitor. But that's always been finicky about cables; expensive optical cables sometimes helped and sometimes made things worse.
* Picture-In-Picture / Picture-By-Picture menu exists, but is always disabled. I even tried connecting something to HDMI2; nope, still disabled.
* Can't enable FreeSync on the USB-C input. I hope that's just a fixable firmware limitation, not a hardware flaw!
* Light sensor feature is useless, it just makes the brightness slightly fluctuate all the time even with unchanging room brightness.
* Minimum brightness is too high at night, and even worse with the light sensor enabled.
* No firmware updates or other downloads currently listed on the web site.
* Screen rotation sensor doesn't work well in Mac OS: you have to change resolution (not orientation!) to portrait manually. And then when you rotate back, Mac OS forgets the monitor position! Perhaps RedMagic could fix it by giving the monitor a different serial number per orientation.

Excellent monitor

The redmagic 4k gaming monitor is amazing. It offers plenty of speed, clarity, color, and contrast without the burn in that OLED has. I upgraded from an odessey G7 240hz which is a great monitor but the HDR of the redmagic is a noticeable improvement. I was a bit concerned ordering from an unknown site to me but I received my monitor 2days after ordering through UPS. I would absolutely recommend buying the redmagic 4k gaming monitor.

Great for HDR or SDR, but not at the same time

The monitor does really well at HDR and SDR, but not at the same time. With HDR enabled SDR content, in my opinion, is way too dim, even if you max SDR Content Brightness in Windows. I would only get this monitor if you don't mind only enabling HDR when you are consuming HDR content, and then disabling it once you are done. Outside of that, it gives excellent brightness and the Mini-LED array really reduces blooming, so you get really deep blacks where it is needed but extremely bright where necessary. If you are fine with my one caveat, this is an excellent monitor and would highly recommend it. Unfortunately that one annoyance makes this monitor not for me.
